Touch of Life Technologies creates virtual patients from real anatomy
derived from ultra-high resolution images of cryosectioned specimens, including the Visible Humans. These patients are specifically designed for real-time 3D clinical viewing through simulated ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, and direct observation. Palpation and high fidelity tool interactions with needles, scalpels, and drills are the hallmark of our simulations. We are developing applications in orthopaedic, general, and ophthalmic surgery, regional anesthesia, and rheumatology, on a common hardware

Verefi also produces EndoTower™ and RapidFire/SmartTutor, scientifically validated, cost effective, and reliable virtual reality trainers that focus on basic skills and individual elements of laparoscopic surgery. RapidFire provides eight tasks to develop skills related to the laparoscopic fulcrum effect, extrapolation of 2-D environments to 3-D understanding, bimanual target acquisition, and object transfer.
